Case Study: How I Turned $258 Into $47,000 in 14 days Using an Under-Utilised Tool and Strategy

 

Here it is- Case Study of how i used a tool to turn small marketing dollars into 182X Return on Investment in 14 days.

The idea of the experiment was very simple- I was frustrated why getting opt ins on Facebook, bringing them to landing pages were getting more and more expensive, even when giving away free ebooks, reports etc.

But then I noticed that there are a lot of VIRAL quizzes that go around…. Things like “what type of horoscope are you”, “what type of friend are you” etc.

Since the human mind loves the “quiz” discovery so much, maybe I should set up a quiz.

Now remember that this is considered still “cutting-edge” in Singapore, even though I was already using quizzes and surveys back in 2013 to amazing results.

In 2012, when I started a consultancy in education, I used the video content series sequence, and other marketing consultants in Singapore began to follow suit. Back then, I simply used a lousy Iphone with inferior audio, but still managed to gross 6 figures in that business alone.

In 2013, i started using quizzes and surveys, before the “Survey Funnel Formula” was made popular. That too, yielded amazing results.

Today, other marketers are beginning to jump on the bandwagon and using quizzes too, 3 years later.

Ok- So back to how I used a tool and combined it with a strategy to achieve the following

1) CHEAP opt-ins and leads

2) AMAZING conversions on the backend

3) And to do all these on near 100% autopilot.

So go ahead and watch the video again-

You’ll see that I ran a Facebook ad, for 14 days, and spent $258 or so, to get traffic to a landing page quiz.

The psychology of the quiz taker is simple- “Are they an entrepreneur mindset, or a employee mindset”.

Step 1: 10,000 clicked on the quiz, and 1040 people ended up completing the quiz and entering their name and email address.

Step 2: All 1040 people were shown the results page, which either showed enterpreneur or employee, and then a link to offer my services.

Some immediately purchased on the same day, resulting in an automated sales spike.

Step 3: Those who did not puchase right away, were AUTOMATICALLY sent, using a software called Aweber, emails on welcome, content, value, and also invitations to work with me.

This further created more sales.

The eventuality of the experiment created over 30 sales, and $47,000 SGD.

That’s something that i was very surprised about, and wanted to share this tool and strategy with others.

But who can benefit from this system and who can’t?

These are a list of services and businesses that can benefit from this:

– High profit margin business owners
– Insurance agents
-Maid agencies
– Yoga class owners
– Gym instructors
– Bakers with classes
– Tuition centre owners or tutors
– Music teachers/ piano teachers etc
– Property agents
– internet marketers and consultants
– Blog shop owners (who want to build a database of customers and market to the over and over again)
– High margin F&B owners

Basically, ANY business that can sell over and over again to their customers, and has a healthy margin.

Who will not benefit from the above?

1) Someone who does not have a business idea.

But if you don’t have a business yet, you can still use the method above, to find a business owner who does, and partner with them, run marketing for them and take a nice commission for each sale. That’s what I love about this method.

2) Someone whose business only has 1 dollars to 5 dollars profits per sale. The above is unlikely to work for you in this scenario.

So let me recap again the entire sequence:

A) You need a quiz software. There’s LOADS out there, free and paid.

B) You need to run a FB ad, offering a quiz.

C) Set up the quiz with no more than 5 questions. Any more will lead to dropoffs and attrition.

D) Link the quiz to an autoresponder such as MailChimp, AWeber, or GetResponse etc.

E) At the “results” page upon completion of quiz, tell them the answer, and give them YOUR solution.

F) Those who did not respond, continue sending them emails.
